Some of you may know Beta Alanine as the tingly feeling you sometimes get out of pre workouts, but do we know what Beta Alanine is used for or what it does? Beta Alanine is a non essential amino acid that combines with L-Histidine already in the body to product a di peptide called Carnosine.
After continuous supplementation of Beta Alanine, Carnosine builds up in your skeletal muscle to help buffer the effect of Lactic Acid therefore reducing the pain of Lactic Acid and allowing you to push harder and for longer. By Boosting nitric oxide levels and increasing blood flow, you may find yourself pumping out extra reps each set and fatiguing less.
So what's that itching all about? It's caused by a reaction called paraesthesia. Some may have a high tolerance while others are very sensitive. It's best to assess your tolerance prior to supplementing.
Directions
Consume 3.2-6.4g of Beta Alanine per day, one serving prior to and post working out. Mix it with your pre workout or aminos!
